OUR STORY

BaeDates started in 2017 as a dating resource for Black millennials in New York City, sharing thoughtful date ideas and places to go. But it quickly became more than that.

What began as recommendations turned into real conversations. We started unpacking the honest, sometimes uncomfortable, often hilarious realities of dating and relationships. The community grew because the conversations felt familiar.

During the pandemic, a new wave of people found BaeDates through our question-driven content. Asking the community what they actually thought—and sharing those answers—became the heartbeat of the platform. That rhythm led to our first web series, Off the Cuff, built around that same model of ‘real questions and real responses.’

As we evolved, we expanded into product—first with signature merch, then with our card game, Tell Me Everything, created to bring those same meaningful conversations into people’s homes.

Over the years, we’ve hosted thousands through in-person events and digital experiences. Through every shift, one thing has remained consistent: community is the throughline.

Love and romance might be the spark. But connection will always be what keeps us going.
